Cocktails and wine were excellent. Will dine again. Food need improved, I used to go that restaurant in past 26 years ago. Completely change service and food are completely different. The food was fantastic! I got the duck and it's some of the best I've ever had. The service was great and the view of the city at night was beautiful.
This is a great special occasion place. We enjoyed dinner and unfortunately, we became short on time for our concert and unable to have dessert with our 4 course meal. I feel like we should have let our waiter know ahead of time but we did not and had to rush out. Food was wonderful and my daughter and I enjoyed trying new dishes. We went for my wife's b-day on a Friday night. Great experience all around. We had Scott as out server, he recommended us great choices and fantastic service! The place is nice and quiet.
Service is very good. The only problem is the food. The starters and the deserts were very good. For the main course, 4 of us we ordered 2 lamp chops and 2 sheared sea bass. Both the lamp chops is very tough a lot of hard cutting and tasteless. Just pieces of meat with no favor, not even the taste of lamp. The shear bass is slightly over cook and also no taste maybe forzen too long. We get this dinner through TravelZoo special deal.
If we have to pay full price, it would not be worth the money. It was very lackluster. Food was so so, not the ambiance of days gone by. Would have liked to reserve a window view from the reservation. Felt like a restaurant selling non gourmet food on fancy plates and charging a lot for it. Service was ok not great either. The view from Nikolai's Roof was fantastic and the food was very good. Unfortunately, the service was somewhat confused: chef's appetizer being delivered twice, cheese course being brought before the entree course, the vintage of the wine not matching that on the wine list, etc.
